SEO encompasses both the technical and creative elements required to improve rankings, drive traffic, and increase awareness in search engines. There are many aspects to SEO, from the words on your page to the way other sites link to you on the web. Sometimes SEO is simply a matter of making sure your site is structured in a way that search engines understand.
SEO isn't just about building search engine-friendly websites. It's about making your site better for people too.
This session is designed to describe all areas of SEO—from finding the terms and phrases (keywords) that generate traffic to your website, to making your site friendly to search engines, to building links and marketing the unique value of your site. If you are confused about this stuff, you are not alone. Hence, this session.
Bring your laptop so you can work on your own website. Do not bring an Ipad - it won't work.

*SEO - What it is and why you need it.
*SEO URL's - what they are and how they help your search results. How to implement them.
*Page Titles - Page Titles and their importance explained, best practice and how to implement.
*Meta Tag Descriptions - Learn about meta tag descriptions, where they display on Google and how to implement best practice.
*Headings - Learn about H1 - H6 Headings on your website pages, how to find them and implement best practice.
*Links - Internal and External links and how to check for broken links, etc.
*Tools - Tools you can use to identify links, page titles, meta tag descriptions and see what your competitors are doing.
*Analyse your own website.
*Images - Learn how to check and add ALT Text to your images, image type and ssize best practice.
*Site maps, Robots and HTAccess Files - How to find thes important files and check they are configured correctly for search engines.
*Server Environment - Things to check with your hosing provider such as PHP version and SSL certificates.
*Google Search Console (Webmaster tools) - Learn how to add your site and crawl your pages/links
At the end of this session you will walk away understanding the impact of SEO on your website and knowing how to improve and implement basic SEO. Once you know how to do this you can continue with keeping your site up to date yourself. No more courses necessary.

The venue is in professional offices located in Ormond, Melbourne and will be emailed to those attending. Easy access via train (close to the Ormond Station) and plenty of on-street parking. Ormond is approximately 30 minutes from Melbourne CBD (depending on traffic).
